Clay  &  Fibre   A r t i s t

Shiva Moghaddasi is a Richmond Hill based multidisciplinary artist and a recent graduate of OCAD University Material Art & Design program. She has been working as a freelance artist since 2009 and has participated in several national and international exhibits.

Shiva’s work includes a variety of creative clay & textile art.  Her work ranges from hand build clay sculptures to hand woven textiles; and from working on her concept all the way to the finished work.

Through her work Shiva brings attention to social issues such as oppression and hidden social abuse amongst the most vulnerable in our society. She uses her handmade artwork installations and exhibits along with smart technology to convey her concept.

Her body of work exhibited at Toronto's Feminist Art Collective exhibit in Spring 2018 brings awareness to elderly abuse in healthcare institutions; while in her other work she had explored oppression forced on women and the notion of hushed and obedient women through her paintings on silk fabrics.

She is currently working with clay on a body of work for her 2020 exhibit. Her work can be found through her website, social media, The Burr House Artisans shop and the Hill Potters’ Guild Spring and Fall shows in Richmond Hill.
