Spring Thaw & New Studio Momentum

March is the month when everything begins to shift: the light brightens, the days stretch, and the studio feels super lively again! I love how this change shows up in my work: shapes become more open, glazes become fresher, and I start thinking about pieces meant for spring gatherings and gardens. Even the way clay dries changes slightly with the changing air, giving me more flexibility to refine details.

It’s also a great month to revisit our creative intentions from January. What’s working beautifully? What do we want to try next? March has a gentle forward-motion to it, making it the perfect time to grow our skills or challenge ourselves with a new form.

Spring Tip:
As humidity rises with the season, pieces may stay leather-hard longer. Use this window to refine trimming, smooth edges, and compress rims for cleaner results.
