MotherlandA Poem by Shiva Moghaddasi
I am at peace. I am a woman of this land, one of many women of my land. We are strong, we are true, we are kind. A flock of 13 birds each for a province, a territory; surround me, remind me, silently: of lives that have been lived, blood that has been spilled, and fights that have been fought. Lest I forget! Today is a new day, a new era. Full of life, full of love, here I am now. I am at peace in this land: Motherland. Lest I forget! ______________________ Richmond Hill November 2017 |
